Language Arts

Spelling – al as a prefix and suffix –

Rules:

A suffix is a group of letters added at the end of a word to change its meaning.

A prefix is a group of letters added at the beginning of a word to change its meaning.

Adding the suffix –al to a word changes a noun into an adjective because it means “having the character of”

Ex. history becomes historical

4. The prefix al- at the beginning of the word means (all or toward).

Ex. always although almost
