Over the last few weeks, during our unit "Dig It", 3B students have been participating in all kinds of experiments. They have made Earth sandwiches, showing the layers of rocks and then manipulating them to show the different ways the plates move together and how they can cause earthquakes. They also made rather explosive volcanoes and discovered the properties of a number of rocks and minerals. They examined them according to a series of criteria such as porosity, presence of pattern and grains, etc.Here are a few photos from their explorations:
