Writing about the weekend or a story
Spelling - the letter y
        -often is a consonant at the beginning of a word
        -can be many vowels - long a, long e, long i, short i
        - when adding -s or -ed, if there is a consonant before the y, it becomes i then -es or -ed
        - when adding -s or -ed, if there is a vowel before the y, just add the ending

Maths
Multiplication - quick check of 3's and 4's - students might make and use flash cards to help
Things that come in groups - real-life applications of multiplication- making up word problems with things that come in groups and solving one another's problems
Time - what we know about time and telling time on the clock


ANNOUNCEMENTS/NOTICES

  • Weekend Assignments:  - 
    •  Reading Log - Please read aloud with your child for 15 minutes - see letter in the LOG - children should have logged some reading at least 5 times this week with two being their banded books aloud to an adult - as usual
    •  Reading JOURNAL - I have written the same letter to each student asking them to reflect on their reading so far.
    • Personal Changes Project - Some students have brought home their projects to work on- it is not required but so nice.
    • SCHOLASTIC ORDERS - this is a great chance to get some books for home and help us get more books for our class libraries!  Please send in your orders by Tuesday.
